EnergyMeasures is working to improve the energy efficiency of households by 

  • providing small scale energy measures;
  • working with householders to change their energy-related behaviours;
  • proving support and advise for householders;

The group led by Dr Niall Dunphy conducts engaged research focused on the theme of society, sustainability, and energy.

Niall Dunphy

is the Director of the Cleaner Production Promotion Unit, Fellow of the School of Engineering and Architecture, and Principal Investigator of the Environmental Research Institute at University College Cork. Niall is an environmental social scientist with a background in the natural sciences. He leads a team encompassing a diverse range of disciplines, working on the human aspects of sustainability, with a particular emphasis on people’s relationship with energy and the energy system.

Breffni Lennon

has been with the Cleaner Production Promotion Unit since 2015. He has over fourteen years’ experience conducting community-engaged research on energy and sustainability related topics, especially in terms of procedural and distributional justice.

Paola Velasco-Herrejon

is a researcher working for the Cleaner Production Promotion Unit since January 2021. Her work focuses on education and public engagement in environmental decision-making, particularly renewable energy, along with wider sustainability, energy justice, and community participation issues.
